The name apatite is derives from the Greed word for "cheat or deceive", because the stone is easily confused with other gemstone such as beryl, topaz, zircon, tourmaline, etc. Apatite is a transparent stones that occurs in a variety range of colour, including blue, greenish-yellow, greenish-blue, pink and violet. Apatite has a glassy luster.
Inclusions
Several inclusions may be found in apatite, such as fibrous inclusion, black carbon specks, tiny cloudlike inclusions and melt inclusions.
Treatments
Apatite is often heat treated to improve its colour or to remove some of the inclusions.
Caring
Apatite is sensitive to temperature change, so do not clean apatite with ultrasonic or steam cleaner
