Citrine is a quartz crystal. The name citrine is dervied from the French word "citron", meaning "lemon", refering to a lemon yellow colour. Citrine can be found in a range of yellows from light yellow to dard yellow and golden brown. Natural citrine is pale yellow to pale orange in colour.
Citrine is believed to help the heart, kidney, digestive tract, liver and muscles. It also trought to promotes creativity, helps personal clarity and eliminates self-destructive tendencies.

Citrine are normally found to be clean.
Treatments
Heat treatment is used to intensify the colour. Some citrine that is available on the market today is heat-treated amethyst.
Caring
Citrine can permanently lose its colour if left in the sunlight for too long.
Citrine can be damaged by sharp blows and harsh chemicals.
Should not be clean with ultrasonic cleaners.
To clean, use mild dishwashing soap and water.
