Although diamond is the hardest substance, improper caring of your diamond can affect their brilliance.

Taking care of your diamond

To ensure your diamond do not scratch your other gemstones and jewellery, especially the ones that is organic (such as pearl, coral, etc.), store your diamond separately from your other jewellery.

Diamonds are much more durable then the metal prongs on your jewellery, therefore check the prongs occasionally to ensure a secure fit.

Cosmetics, lotions, grease and dirt will form a film on your diamond. Since grease can adheres to your diamond, try not wear your diamond ring when you are washing your dishes. Cleaning your diamond occasionally, can help keeping the colour and brilliance of your diamond.

Cleaning your diamond

There are many ways to clean a diamond ring. Most includes using ammonia, toothpaste, jewellery cleaners, and ultrasonic machine.

Gentle and Easiest Way

1.

Place you diamond jewellery in hot water with dishwashing detergent.

2.

Let the solution stand for a minute.

3.

Brush with toothbrush to remove tough dirt and tough to reach area.

4.

Rinse your jewellery with water and dry.

Using Household Cleaner (Mr. Clean)

The easiest and very effective way is to simply use household cleaner, such as Mr. Clean. It's safer than ammonia and cheaper than buying an ultrasonic machine or jewellery cleaners.

Find an old pot.

2.

Fill the pot with Mr. Clean (enough to submerge the ring).

3.

Heat up the pot on a stove top until boil and remove from heat right away. Do not inhale the vapour.

4.

Let the solution stand for a minute before placing your diamond ring
or jewellery into the solution.

5.

Let your diamond ring or jewellery sit in the solution for a minute.

6.

Remove the ring or jewellery with a tweezer.

7.

Brush with a soft toothbrush to remove tough dirt.

8.

Rinse your diamond with water and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.

Caution:
This method involves heating chemicals and should never be left unattended.
Do not used on any other gemstones other than diamond.
