The most precius gemstones in the beryl family. This stone was traded in one of the earliest know gem markets in Babylon around 4000 B.C. Emerald are saturated green to deep green in colour.
Inclusions
Emerald is a high quality green beryl, hence inclusions in emerald are very minimal. If there are a lot of inclusions in emerald, the stone would be consider as a green beryl.
Treatments
Many emerald inclusions are treated with filling techniques. Traditionally, natural oils are used to fill and disguise the inclusions. Recently synthetic resins have been used for filling.
Caring
Clean with soft, dry cloth
Never clean emerald with an ultrasonic cleaner.
Do not clean emerald in hot soapy water.
Avoid sudden temperature changes, it will lose their colour in high temperature.
