Most people refer quartz to colourless quartz, but in gemmology quartz is a group of mineral that share similar chemical composition or physical characteristics. Quartz is named after a Slavic word for "hard".

In gemmology quartz that has a transparent or clear appearance are referred as "colourless quartz" or "rock crystal"

Caring

Quartz can be damaged by sharp blows and harsh chemicals.

Should not be clean with ultrasonic cleaners.
